15 Long Presses Shortcuts

1. Long press the power button to change ring modes, toggle airplane mode, and turn off the device.
2. Long press the camera button to launch the camera app.
3. Long press the Home button to add/remove home screens and access recently used applications. In Android 2.1, this only brings up recently used apps, which is normal Android behavior.
4. Long press the Menu button to bring up the keyboard.
5. Long press an empty area on the home screen to add shortcuts, widgets, and folders to the home screen, as well as change wallpapers.
6. Long press an icon/widget on the home screen to move, delete, or uninstall it. In Android 2.1, uninstalling is not an option.
7. In the stock web browser, long press the Back key to view your browsing history, bookmarks, and most-visited pages.
8. Long press a link or image to open it in the existing or a new window, bookmark it, save it, share it, and copy the URL.
9. Long press an item in your browser download history (Menu -> Downloads) to open it (if supported) or clear it from the list.
10. Long press an app in the program menu to move it to/from the Favorites bar or drag it to the home screen.

Seems like 2 solutions.

1st solution:

You need Android to know your Phone no.

• Problem is Sim card no info of your number
• Solution: Use a phone like sony erricson w ur sim, then go to Contacts > options > special numbers > My numbers and enter ur phone number.
  • Phones that seem to work are: nokia symbians, iphones, Nokia 8250′s and Sony Ericsson Z770i’s, Samsung Anycall f488, Sony Ericsson W880i  / C905, old NOKIA 8250
  • using Sim Manager on my old Windows mobile phone.  (Menu, Tools, List of Own Numbers…, edit first number)
  • You can do it on the Blackberry advanced settings too
  • The important is to maintain this “format”Name (Voice Line 1) -> Number (+39xxxxxxxxx)
    Name (Voice Line 2 )-> Numbero (+39xxxxxXxx)

    In the “name” you have to write Voice Line or, apparently, it wouldn’t work.

• Solution 2: as mentioned in TechCredo blog: use an app called My Phone Number by Lytsing.
  Problem: my dell can’t install it. dev might be fixing it soon.. lets see.
• Solution 3: Get Telco Provider to send no. to sim.
• 4: Someone in a thread managed to Go to Settings > Call Settings > Additional Settings > My phone number. However, on my dell streak it has no “my phone number” in additional settings

2nd solution:

Edit your google profile to add icon pic.
Problem faced: no google profile available for my google app acc ..??
Well, still can add profile pic.. will be trying later to see if it works. but still prefer linking direct from android to contact list and contact list to facebook. (like how my previous htc hero works)

With tough new banking rules known as Basel III having been finalised, investors are focusing on which firms regulators will deem to be Sifis.

Sifis are banks regarded as “too big to fail”, because their failure would cause significant disruption to the wider financial system and economic activity.

Japaneses regulators have made a list of the top 60 “too big to fail” institutions and submitted the list to the Financial Stability Board, which is expected to decide which banks will be named as Global Sifis by middle of next year, followed by discussions on what additional requirements, includiing capital surcharges, would be levied on them.
